About AnimElite: As a "Veteran" Anime Otaku (in the sense that I was into Anime before it became mainstream over here in the West, which is about 10 years give or take), I've been watching as the fandom has been flooded with a population only here to gain quick popularity and fame from the genre. In other words, instead of drawing in an Anime style because they genuinely enjoyed the appearance, they drew in the style because it was "popular". Because of this dramatic increase, Anime art has hit a rather hard wall. The style is seen as uncreative, reproduced, and dull; the "lazy persons style". There is also a stereotype that the only way to gain a name in the fandom, is to be a fan-artist.

I wanted a place without all of that tripe.

I refuse to believe that I am the only Anime artist out there who choses to draw this way because I sincerely love it; that I'm the only one who draws in the genre simply because I love it, not to gain fame, popularity, or more "wathcers" on art sites than anyone else.

AnimElite is a art-community for Anime artists of this nature; a place to share original pieces of Anime art with fellow artists who draw this way because we adore it. Not because we think it's the "in" thing to draw.



Joining


-Well, first you have to read these few rules. That's a given. After you have read this all, you will need to send a note with the title/subject "JOIN", and include the following information:


- A short little bio about yourself, basic quick things like: name (you can give a nickname/alias if you please), age, likes, dislikes, years drawing, and anything else you'd like to share. It needn't be more than a few lines.
- Answer the question: Why do you enjoy Anime Art? Length doesn't really matter, just make sure you really think about this question and put your sincere thoughts into it. This is the most important part.
- Provide links to *3* of what you feel are your best pieces. The community isn't going to be overly strict on skill or quality, but SOME level of anatomical understanding is necessary and should be clearly visible (we understand that people are learning, and that they can gain experience from older, more skilled members of the community). The pictures don't have to be in color, as long as you feel they are your best. Remember: original anime art only. No fanart. There are tons of communities for fanart. We wish to show off original creations only!


After this, the moderators will discuss your application, and if everything is in order, you will recieve a reply that it's been accepted or denied (if denied, you get an explanation as to why, and will have a chance to reapply in a given amount of time), and your name will be added to the members listing. Only applied members can submit artwork to the community!



Submitting


- Firstly, the submission you wish to enter must already be in your DA account. Then, send a note to with the title "SUBMISSION" and a link to the work in question. We will then submit the image to the community with a link ( : iconyourdapage : ) back to our account and the original post in the description slot. Viewers won't be able to comment on the community posts. We will completely encourage that all favorites, watches, and comments are allowed only on your original. We only wish to share your art.
- Each member is allowed ONE submission per week. Please make sure that you feel what you are giving us is your best work (again, as above, it doesn't have to be in color, so long as you feel strongly about it). Members can send their submissions EVERY SATURDAY and Saturday ONLY. We know that time-zones are different, so things given on Friday or Sunday will be excepted as well, but anything on any other days will be passed by. This will allow for some organization and keep the mods from going crazy.



Submission Guidelines


- ORIGINAL Anime art only, featuring characters you've designed yourself. No fan-characters.
- If you do other crafty things (like making plushies), as long as it's original (not of an established character) and Anime, feel free to submit it!
- Sketches, inks, colored works (either traditional media or digital media) are perfectly fine.
- Clean nudity or romantic situations are allowed, but nothing beyond PG-13 (I'm not submitting anything that would require a "mature" rating).
- Animals or "Furries" of an Anime nature are also allowed.
- Catgirls/Catboys are fine.
- Shonen-ai and Shoujo-ai are welcomed too.

Copying is a NO-NO.


Submitting of copied, stolen, or traced artwork and claiming it as your own will get you removed from this community and reported to DA staff. As well, artwork that has used a reference, must have that reference cited (if you used a pose from an art book or another artist, SAY SO. It's easy to tell a coincedence from something that was deliberate). If you used another picture to help you, give credit to the original artist. If you have not given a reference, and it is clear that one was used, your submission to the community will be rejected. If you continue to submit it, or any other art without reference, the mods will remove you from the community and you won't be allowed to participate anymore. It's just a matter of being respectful to other artists.

As well, like the rest of DA, nothing in is clip art. You may NOT use any of the images submitted to this account without direct permission of the original artist. It's their work, ask them.
